United India Insurance Company will implement the scheme from January 2022 until 2027. The scheme will cover around 1,37 crore families as of January 2022. CMCHIS covers 1090 surgical procedures, 8 subsequent procedures and 52 diagnostics in 800 government-accredited hospitals and 900 privately accredited ones.
This scheme provides cashless hospitalization up to Rs. The scheme provides a maximum of Rs. 5,00,000.00 per family per year for all the illnesses and procedures that are covered by the plan. The CMCHIS represents a major step in ensuring vulnerable groups of the society have access to adequate medical care without financial hardship.

- The Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme covers additional medical procedures. Unlike other health insurance plans, it also includes coverage for diagnostic and follow-up treatment. The Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme covers additional medical procedures. Eligibility
Residents of Tamil Nadu that meet certain criteria are eligible for the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. The applicant must have their name on the family card and the annual family income of the family should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000 per year. The eligibility of the applicant can be verified by presenting the necessary documents such as the Aadhar Card, family card and the income certificate from VAO/Revenue Authorities.
The definition of a family under this program includes an eligible member and his or her spouse as well as their children. These individuals can receive the quality health care services they need without having to pay any additional costs by meeting the criteria.
Included in the Exclusions
- This scheme is not open to non-residents in Tamil Nadu.
- This scheme is not open to individuals with a gross annual income of more than Rs.72,000.
- This scheme is not open to members who are not on the ration cards of their families.
- This scheme is not open to non-Sri Lankans who do not have proof of citizenship.
- This scheme is not open to migrants from Indian states that do not have migration certificates issued by the relevant authority.
- Orphans and rescued girl children who are not associated with any registered/unregistered organization are not eligible for this scheme.
