NoScroll: block Reels & Shorts:
Accessibility Service, a feature of the Android OS that enhances certain app’s functionality is powerful. It’s crucial to know that apps can use this permission to take action on your behalf and read the text on screen. If you grant this permission to an app that is not trusted, they could misuse your data.
What can you do to ensure your data is safe?
If you find the policy too long, ask a href=”https://chatgpt.com/” title=””>ChatGPT/a>/a href=”https://gemini.google.com/app” title=”‘>Gemini/a> to summarize it for you. You can have Gemini or chatGPT summarize the entire policy if you feel it is too lengthy.
Why trust Google Play’s privacy policies?
Google adheres to strict guidelines and tests all apps thoroughly before they are published on the Play Store. Google will remove an app if it violates a policy (such as stealing data from users) and inform the user. These actions damage the reputation of a developer and can make it hard for him to get future projects or publish new apps. We, as legitimate developers, value our reputation. Therefore we would never take part in these practices.
Accessibility Service Data Protection Policy
Google has implemented several measures to safeguard user data in apps that use Accessibility Services:
- Google requests the reason for using Accessibility Service. Developers are encouraged to find alternative ways of achieving the functionality in their app if it can be done without Accessibility Service.
- Transparency in Data Collection: Apps that use Accessibility Service and connect to the Internet are closely scrutinized. Google’s privacy policies require developers to list all the data collected by their app.
- Data deletion: An app that collects data must give users the option of deleting their data at any time. Otherwise, the Play Store will not publish the application.
