What are the taxes in your country?

The information below is for India.

Your business’s location will determine whether taxes or value added tax (VAT), whichever is higher, applies. Find out what is applicable in your own country.

In India, taxes are a concern

GST is a Goods and Services Tax (GST), which you will be charged on all your purchases if you are located in India.

The GST model is dual-taxation, where the Indian state governments and Indian Central Government both impose taxes on goods and services.

The GST is composed of three types of tax: the central tax (GST), state tax and integrated tax. Google’s service location and the location of your purchase determine which taxes will apply to your order. Tax rates:

  • GST Central (CGST: 9%)
  • State GST (SGST), 9%
  • Integrated GST: 18%

Customers who have a billing address in Telangana will be charged CGST + SGST rates. Intrastate services will be charged at CGST+SGST rates. The IGST rate is charged to all others.

The GST rate for SEZ is zero.

Your tax ID will determine the amount of tax that you pay when purchasing services from Google India Digital Services Private Limited. Goods and Services Tax Identification Numbers are mandatory for businesses but optional for individuals.

If you are handling agency accounts, ensure that the GST and address provided match the state and company who pay the invoices. Update the address if the name of the billing company and the address on your invoice differ from that which pays the invoices.

Be sure to check that your business account or personal accounts are using the correct address, GSTIN and location of the service. The GSTIN must match the address shown on your invoices. The invoice will be deemed unregistered if the GSTIN does not match the address. Google GST returns reflect this.

The correct tax is assessed if the information provided is accurate.
